Sanskriti- 2011
The Dental Students’ Association organized a spectacular Diwali fest in college, “SANSKRITI 2011” on 29th October, 2011. The event began at 6:30 pm, with the commencement of Laxmi Puja. The chief dignitaries present among them were Dr. V.K. Prabhu (Associate Dean, K.M.C Mangalore); Dr. V. Surendra Shetty (Dean, MCODS Mangalore), Dr. Dilip Nayak (Associate Dean, MCODS Mangalore) and Dr. Mahesh C.P (Head of the Dept. –Periodontics, National Institute of Medical Sciences, Jaipur).
The event was attended by a bevy of students and staff members. The rooftop events commenced with the lighting of lamp by the personages preset there. Dr. V.K Prabhu launched the newsletter (Monthly Candour of Dental Students) and the MCODS music club. Dr. Dilip Nayak inaugurated the DSA website “www.DSAMCODS.weebly.com” ,designed exclusively by Shobhit Agarwal (Batch ‘10). Dr. Mahesh C.P brought in the zest at the fest by conducting few interesting, mind-grueling staff v/s student games. Dr. Joannah swung the mood of the festivity even more by conducting Tambola. The music club performed an eastern and western song for the evening and were well-appreciated by the audience. The rooftop floor turned into a dance-floor when the DJ and dhol took up the charge for the rest of the evening. The show ended with a magnificent cracker show in front of MCODS building at 10:30 pm.
